TCRP H-52 “Decision-Making Toolbox to Plan and Manage Park-and-Ride Facilities for Public Transportation” is a current research project sponsored by the Transit Cooperative Research Program of the Transportation Research Board. The objective of the research is to develop a decision-making toolbox better plan and manage park-and-ride facilities for public transportation. The first tasks included reviewing previous research and available literature relevant to planning and managing park-and-ride facilities for public transportation. During these early exploratory tasks, the research team recognized a need for more current information. To address the need for additional detail, research launched a scan of transit agencies to learn more about their park-and-ride operations.
The scan responses were also used to develop mini case studies in an effort to summarize the scan findings and inform the selection of transit agencies to include in the project’s in-depth case study phase. These case studies are available here.
A summary of scan responses is presented below.
