The Environment and Air Qualities Division of TTI consists of three programs and a center: Air Quality, Environment and Planning, Transportation Modeling, and the Center for Advancing Research in Transportation Emissions, Energy, and Health (CARTEEH). The researchers at the Air Quality Program focus on transportation-related air quality and allied considerations, covering a range of topics such as mobile source emissions (including greenhouse gases), transportation sustainability, energy and climate change. Research in the Environment and Planning Program involves identifying, analyzing, and developing solutions for sustainable roadsides. The Transportation Modeling Program gives sponsors the information they need to achieve compliance with federal clean air standards. CARTEEH focuses on the impact of transportation emissions on human health.
The Mobility Division of TTI consists of three programs: Mobility Analysis, Transportation Planning, and Urban Analysis. The Mobility Analysis Program researches a range of mobility issues, from measuring the problems to estimating the benefits and evaluating solutions. Researchers in the Transportation Planning Program study travel behavior and travel data collection methods. The Urban Analysis Program staff’s technical specialty is transportation planning. Researchers lead and assist in a wide spectrum of transportation planning technical activities.
The Planning Division of TTI consists of three programs: Planning and Engagement, Transit Mobility, and Travel Forecasting. The Public Engagement Planning Program provides research innovations and coordinated support to sponsors in the areas of public engagement planning and public opinion research. The Transit Mobility Program provides research and technology transfer expertise in all aspects of public transportation planning, management and operations. The overall goal of the Travel Forecasting Program is to support and assist public agencies in the implementation and application of current and emerging technologies in travel forecasting.
