TTI recently completed a scoping study under sponsorship of the Southwest University Transportation Center to assess potential implications of development and implementation of automated vehicles on Texas roadways. The output is a high-level assessment of the issues, topics for further in-depth research, and a briefing paper highlighting findings. The research is based on interviews of subject matter experts in two waves: original equipment manufacturers and suppliers of automated vehicles, who will provide industry forecasts and perspectives on the role of infrastructure, followed by public agency representatives to respond to the industry information.
